This past weekend the family along with about 50 other friends and relatives piled into Urban Park Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove to pay tribute to my grandmother, Fay Dillingham. "Mema" turned 80 this past week and my eldest daughter insisted on getting her a tiara and a wand.
It was a wonderful time eating, talking with distant relatives, and just taking in the moment as we saw Mema's heart swell with joy. What an incredible woman! I'm so blessed to know her and to learn from her.
The only downside to the event was Keira eating about 2 lbs of icing from Mema's cake. This caused her tongue to be a hot pink color for the last two days....and I'll leave you to imagine how that also impacted her digestion. At first we were a little worried that there might be something wrong - until we remembered the icing!
For the past several months, I have been using a MacBook pro. As a long time Windows user, I was very skeptical of all of the tree-huggers out there I saw embracing all things Steve Jobs trying to convince me that their platform was superior (and by extension, THEY were superior too). Now, for the record, I still develop applications faster on Windows (more/better tools for that purpose)...however, I discovered last night what makes Mac so wonderful. It allows non-creative shmoes like me to produce something like this:
Not bad for my first attempt, eh? BTW - that's Switchfoot's "Golden" in case you're wondering about the song. I picked that one because it's one of Keira's favorites - and it just works for this, don't ya think? Expect more of this kind of stuff from me in the future - especially if I get that camcorder I always wanted...
